Seattle weather: Rounds of rain and mountain snow through weekend

SEATTLE - Another round of rain arrives on Friday night as the front pushes in from the south. Widespread light rain will persist into Saturday morning as Washington officials monitor avalanche conditions. 

Showers will be more scattered through the day with a brief dry break late Saturday night. Rainfall amounts will range from around .30" to .75" to kick off the last weekend of 2024.

Rain will increase Friday night with scattered showers throughout the day on Saturday.

Snowfall chances for White pass and Stevens pass

While the lowlands pick up light rain, snow levels will be around 3500', so light snow is forecast mainly in White pass and Stevens pass along with Mount Baker. Another foot of snow may fall by the end of the weekend.

More light snow and breezy winds through the passes are forecast for Saturday.

The passing front will increase winds some, so it will be breezy at times with gusts around 30-40 mph. No damaging winds are forecast and these are below the criteria for wind advisories.

Wind gusts will pick up, but it won't be terribly strong Saturday morning. (FOX 13 Seattle)

New Year's Eve weather conditions, will it rain?

The weather will remain unsettled throughout the week. Additional chances for showers. We do see a break in the rain in time to celebrate New Year's Eve. It will be chilly, so bundle up if you are headed out to ring in the new year.

Showers will continue through the weekend with temperatures around seasonal average.
