Seattle weather: Tracking lowland snow chances this week
Seattle weather: Staying sunny Tuesday
FOX 13 Seattle Meteorologist Ilona McCauley has your latest western Washington weather forecast!
Clear skies and light winds will allow for another frosty night around Western Washington with a hard freeze in spots. Overnight lows will dip into the 20s. Some patchy fog is possible by early morning. Any fog that develops will burn off fairly quickly.

Clear Another chilly night tonight across our region with patchy fog possible.
We will be watching the snow levels closely by the end of the week. A return to a cooler and wetter pattern will begin on Thursday night. Mountain snow will ramp up starting Friday and into the middle of next week with a possibility of a light dusting of snow in the lowlands.

Snow levels are forecast to lower to near 500' by Saturday night.
The dominant ridge of high pressure which has kept our weather dry for the last couple of weeks will move off to the east, opening the door for a series of disturbances to swing through increasing rain chances. We will also see the colder air funnel into the Puget Sound region, bringing a chance for lowland rain/ snow mix on Saturday night and a slightly better chance early next week beginning Monday.

A shift from our extended dry period with rain and snow returning by Thursday night.
The best chance for lowland snow looks to be Saturday or Sunday nights along and north of Snohomish County. This looks like a minor event at this point with few to no impacts. Perhaps some of the higher hills at and above elevations of 500 feet could see a brief, light coating of snow on the ground here-and-there. But truthfully, it’s too early to determine the timing, totals and impacts of any rain/snow mix in the lower elevations for next weekend.

Rainy weather returns to Seattle this upcoming Friday.
