Seattle weather: Chilly temperatures ahead
FOX 13 Seattle Meteorologist Ilona McCauley is tracking potential record-low temperatures in western Washington this week.
SEATTLE - Western Washington is bracing for freezing temperatures tonight. Temperatures are forecast to fall into the teens and 20s. With a breezy northeast wind, windchill values will make it feel like 10-20 degrees. Icy and frosty spots will be possible in the morning.

As temperatures approach record levels, prolonged exposure to the cold may be dangerous. A Cold Weather Advisory is in effect till 10 a.m.

What's next:
Several locations will be looking at record low temperatures by Tuesday morning. The next few mornings will be some of the coldest we have seen so far this season.

Seattle and surrounding spots will likely break new records for the coldest low temperatures on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings.
We have another shot at seeing a little wintry mix overnight Thursday night and early Friday morning. Temperatures will be well below freezing during that time. A dusting is possible, but no major accumulation is expected.

Cold, dry and sunny weather is expected for the next few days. Temperatures will moderate and return to near normal by the end of the weekend and early next week. A front moving through during this time will bring a chance of showers.
