A shooting on a school playground in Federal Way led to charges against a 13-year-old, who allegedly brought a gun to Sequoyah Middle School and accidentally shot a peer. As the victim recovers, the suspect faces juvenile court with electronic home monitoring, while schools develop safety plans.

Firefighters rush for toy run at Federal Way Walmart

South King Fire trucks lined the outside of Walmart in Federal Way on Sunday morning, but not for the reason you might think. Rather than running toward a fire, these firefighters could be seen inside the store, running toward the toys. Pacific Northwest Restoration teamed up with South King Fire and Federal Way Cares for Kids for the Pacific Northwest Restoration’s Holiday Hero’s Toy Run.
