Seattle weather: Few showers lingering Monday with highs in the 40s

SEATTLE - Snow will continue this evening in the mountain passes with a Winter Weather Advisory and a Winter Storm Warning through Monday morning. Snow levels will remain around 2500' through Monday, bringing heavier snow to the south Cascades and lighter amounts to Stevens and Snoqualmie. We could still see another 6-8" of snow by tomorrow morning.

Tonight we will see a few scattered showers with overnight lows in the upper 30s to low 40s.

Scattered showers will be around Monday with times of sunbreaks and clouds. Light snow will continue for the mountain passes. We will see drier conditions by Monday evening as a brief surface ridge of high pressure builds into the region through Tuesday.

Monday night into Tuesday will be cooler as the skies clear out a bit. Overnight lows could drop again to around freezing for some locations, so we will be watching for cooler temperatures. Rain will return Tuesday evening for New Year's Eve into New Year's Day along with a few more inches of mountain snow. A stronger system bringing more rain, mountain snow and breezy conditions will return Friday into the first part of the weekend.
