Seattle weather: Atmospheric river to bring heavy rain, wind and mountain snow Tuesday

We started with steady rainfall this morning, but the skies dried out with scattered showers and sunbreaks before sunset. We are in for more wet weather starting Tuesday into Wednesday morning as our next atmospheric river moves into western Washington.

We will see passing showers overnight as a weak system moves through. Overnight lows in the upper 30s to low 40s.

A Winter Weather Advisory for the Cascades from Tuesday morning through Wednesday morning as heavy snow is expected above 2500 ft. Snow levels will rise throughout the day Tuesday, which will lead to snow transitioning to freezing rain late Tuesday into Wednesday morning.
