Beautiful weekend ahead for western WA

We've got a long stretch of cool, sunny days — but rain is finally creeping back into the forecast late next week.

Today, Seattle got to 42 degrees. The record was 56 degrees, which happened back in 2005. Clouds throughout the day today. There was very little shower activity in the early evening on the Olympic Peninsula and east of Everett in the foothills communities.

By the numbers:

Clouds overnight, but it will get sunny by mid-day. Lows will be in the lower 30s, and right at freezing. For the day Friday it will be sunny. High temperatures will be in the lower 40s.

Cool temperatures in Seattle

As you can see, the temperatures on the coast will be in the mid 40s, and further inland it will be in the lower 40s. Seattle will get to 42 degrees tomorrow. The average high for the day is 49.

What's next:

Look at all that sunshine! Wow! Looks like an awesome weekend. However, temperatures will still be below average during the day and overnight. In fact, temperatures will be below freezing overnight. And look what happens on Thursday, showers return. Showers appear to be in the forecast on Thursday and into Friday next week as well.
