Second child luring reported near Sammamish elementary school

Police are investigating a second child luring incident near Margaret Mead Elementary School in Sammamish, a day after the initial report.

On Monday, a student riding his bike to school was approached by a man in a white van, who tried to convince the child to get in the van with him.

Sammamish PD investigates possible child luring near elementary school

Some families in Sammamish were informed of a possible attempted child luring near Margaret Mead Elementary School on Monday.

Now, Mead Elementary says a second student was approached Tuesday morning by a man in a van. The student notified the school office, who then reported it to Sammamish Police.

Sammamish Police increased their patrols at Mead Elementary following the first incident on Monday. They will continue making extra patrols around walking areas of the school.

The school again reminded families to teach their kids about stranger danger, and to have them walk/ride to school with another student or in groups.
