Preschool teacher stabbed in chest in Seattle, suspect still on the loose

A 26-year-old man who was stabbed in the chest near Seattle's Licton Springs Park is now out of the hospital.

Police say the victim was running when he was stabbed in a random attack on Ashworth Avenue around 9 p.m. last Thursday.

An online fundraiser organized by Kazuko Robertshaw identified the victim as Yuki Wellbaum.

"It was a random act of evil, but I know that Yuki is loved and cared for by so many people," said Robertshaw.

Robertshaw describes herself as a family friend and says she's known the preschool teacher since he was five years old.

She says Wellbaum's mother contacted her just hours after Wellbaum was attacked, and has been in contact with the victim since he was released on Tuesday.
