Kent police are investigating after a man was shot in the head near a Kent bar.

KENT, Wash. - Detectives are investigating a shooting that left a man dead over the weekend in Kent.

After midnight on Sunday, officers responded to the Cloud 9 Bar at 806 Central Avenue South after reports of a shooting.

According to witnesses, the shooting happened in the parking lot outside the bar and that the victim had been shot in the head.

Officers and medics located the 22-year-old man and immediately assessed his injuries.

After medics arrived, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Witnesses told police they were inside the bar when they heard the shooting, went outside to the parking lot, found the victim on the ground and called 911.

It's not known what led up to the shooting, but investigators said the shooting does not appear to be a random incident.
