Infant's body found in California; unclear if related to missing 3-week-old baby case
LONG BEACH, Calif. (AP) — Police say the body of an unidentified infant has been found in San Diego County and detectives from Long Beach are traveling there to help determine whether the baby is the same one who has been the focus of an urgent search.
A 3-week-old girl went missing from a California home where the baby's mother, father and uncle were found shot Saturday evening.
Long Beach police spokeswoman Marlene Arrona says officers went to the residence after receiving a call about the shooting.
Officers found two brothers and the baby's mother with gunshot wounds. Arrona says one of the brothers was the father of the 10-pound baby girl named Eliza Delacruz.
Arrona says the body of an infant was found Sunday afternoon near a trash bin in San Diego. She says it's unknown if the two incidents are related.
