Dozens of dogs and other animals have been rescued from a suspected illegal breeding operation in Roy.
ROY, Wash. - Dozens of dogs and other animals have been rescued from a home in Roy.
In a suspected illegal breeding facility, animal control recovered 35 dogs, 18 cats, and 1 large horse.

Animal Control in Pierce County were alerted to the property in November. The owners were known to police at the time for previous offenses. Once deputies received the warrant, they were able to get all the animals off the property.

All animals were taken to a local veterinarian for care. Once they are healthy again, they will head to the Humane Society of Tacoma and Pierce County, according to Pierce County Sheriff's Department.

"The suspect in this case will be listed as a suspect verified in an illegal breeding and animal cruelty case and charges will be forwarded to a prosecutor for review," PCSD said in a video post to Facebook on Monday.
