Community helps Tacoma donut shop after teen vandals shatter window
The community helped a local donut shop with a broken window after some teen vandals threw rocks at it in mid-December.
TACOMA, Wash. - After a popular Tacoma donut shop was vandalized, the community stepped up to help out the local business.
FOX 13 Seattle previously reported about the vandalism that happened at Helen's Donuts and Ice Cream in mid-December.
Police say a trio of teenagers damaged the shop, throwing rocks at one of the store's windows.
On Friday, crews from TN Glass and Windows came in to fix the broken window.
Repairing it would have cost the owner about $2,000, but with the community's help, it was free.
"They had a break right before Christmas, as a local business we kind of wanted to help out and pay it forward, then giving them a chance to spend that money on other things such as their own family," said Joshua Fairburn with TN Glass and Windows.
The teens who broke the window remain unidentified. If you have any information, contact Tacoma Police.
