AUBURN, Wash. --A fourth person has died after a fiery one-car crash in Auburn on Thursday afternoon. Three children, including an infant, were among those killed. Harborview Medical Center confirms that an adult male later died at the hospital. A fourth child remains at the hospital in serious condition.
At 5:22 p.m., officers responded to a single vehicle crash at 17th and R Street SE. There were five people in the car when it crashed, according to Auburn police.
Upon arrival, officers discovered that three children had died in the vehicle - a 7-year-old, a 4-year-old and a 5-month-old infant.
The police said the survivors --an adult male driver and a 3-year-old girl -- were rushed to Harborview Medical Center, where they are in critical condition.
Police said the identities of the occupants weren't immediately known.
The cause of the crash was under investigation.
