Woman arrested in connection with Kent house fire

KENT, Wash. -- A woman was arrested in connection with a house fire Thursday morning in Kent, the Puget Sound Regional Fire Authority said.

The house is located at the 13300 block of Southeast 263rd Place near Lake Meridian.

The family inside got out safely after hearing a noise and seeing the fire from the window, according to Puget Sound Regional Fire Authority.

When firefighters arrived they told Q13 News the entire first floor was engulfed in flames.

Later Thursday, the Puget Sound Fire Authority said, "Kent Police have made an arrest of a person related to the house fire that took place this morning in the 13300 block of SE 263 Place. The adult woman was brought in on outstanding warrants after she was located by police still in the area of the fire. She was identified from surveillance video. Charges are pending concerning the fire."



This house fire happened just a few blocks away from an earlier fire at Lake Meridian Park on Thursday.

No word if the two are related.
